  • Initial Eight Communities Announced
    In the ‘State of the State’ address given on 3 March 2009, Premier David Bartlett confirmed the initiative to establish up to 30 Child and Family Centres around the State and announced the initial 8 communities in which Child and Family Centres will be set up. 
  • Children and Family Centre for Bridgewater and Geeveston
    On 29 April 2009 the Federal Minister for Education, Julia Gillard, and the Tasmanian Premier and Minister for Education and Skills, David Bartlett, announced that the Australian Government will be providing the Tasmanian Government with approximately $8 million to establish and operate a Children and Family Centre for Bridgewater and Geeveston.
