2012 is the first year of implementation for three
Australian Curriculum learning areas - English, Mathematics and Science. It is a preparation year for the History curriculum. The Australian Curriculum is a Prep-12 curriculum.
You can view and download information about each of the learning areas on the Australian Curriculum website:
The remaining learning areas are being developed in sequence according to a nationally agreed timeline. The
Tasmanian Curriculum remains the required curriculum until each learning area is implemented.
Literacy and numeracy is an important priority across all areas of the curriculum.
