Do schools need to implement the entire Tasmanian Curriculum at the one time? Schools implement the curriculum according to their own implementation plan in the way that best suits their context. Are materials provided to support schools with implementation? The syllabus documents are available online as well as in hard copy for teachers in schools. All documents contain extensive lists of resources. Additional support will be provided electronically in response to the needs of teachers. What web-based resources are available? Electronic, updated versions of all syllabus and support materials are available from the department’s public webpages. Additional resources for teachers are available through the Curriculum Centre (eCentre) and added on an ongoing basis. Will changes be made to curriculum documents (syllabuses)? If so, how will teachers be notified? Updated changes from the print versions of syllabuses will be posted regularly on the department’s webpage. Principals will be notified in writing of any major changes to syllabus documents or the addition of support materials to the website. How are the special needs of students supported? Students with additional needs are supported with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) which map out the curriculum and outcomes relevant to each student’s learning. | ||
