The Student at the Centre plan is about ensuring that students are provided s with the best possible environment for achievement and success. Timely reporting to parents is an important part of this strategy. The Reporting to Parents Ministerial Taskforce recommended a reporting schedule to assist schools with their planning for reporting.
Recommended Reporting Schedule
Schools and their communities will determine implementation of the taskforce recommendations and timelines. The key recommendation is that students should be issued with at least one comprehensive written report supported by two short statements. Parents should also be given the opportunity to attend face-to-face interviews.
Written reports help parents determine how their child is progressing in academic work, social skills, general wellbeing and attitude.
Written reports should also identify any areas of concern and possible areas for improvement.
