Curriculum Guidance for SchoolsSchools and their communities are best placed to make decisions about the learning needs of their students. Schools are also guided by national agreement about what Australian students should learn. This guide helps all schools fulfil national obligations while providing them with the capacity to work with parents and students to personalise student learning. The learning goalThe goal for Tasmanian students is that they have the opportunity to learn and achieve the highest outcomes they can in a personalised learning program drawn from all areas of the Tasmanian Curriculum: English-literacy, Mathematics-numeracy, ICT, Science, Society and History, Health and wellbeing, Arts, and Vocational and Applied Learning. Responsibility for learning programs for each year rests with the school in partnership with students and parents. Maximum school based decision makingAll curriculum areas are valued and important and schools in consultation with parents and students are best placed to make decisions about the personal learning program of each student. The minimum requirements outlined below help ensure that the learning opportunities schools provide meet national agreements and ensures Tasmanian students will participate in the national assessment program having experienced learning in each of these nationally agreed areas.
This is a statement about minimum requirements. Schools are encouraged to provide great learning experiences within and across all of the curriculum areas of the Tasmanian Curriculum. | ||
