Session One

The focus of this day was on how to go about getting started with developing an IEP.

Session One

Several questions guided the initial part of the workshop:

  • What is an Individual Education Plan?

  • What are the IEP Guidelines?

  • What is the individual planning process?

  • How do I use the Learning Teaching and Assessment Guide (LTAG)? What resources are available on LTAG for students with disabilities?

  • How do I use the IEP template?

Time was allocated for participants to begin developing and writing individual IEPs with ‘at-the-elbow’ support from the Teacher Learning Support Leader and colleagues.

An underlying aim of the session was to allow teachers in similar situations to meet and share, to promote professional dialogue and encourage a sense of collegiality.
