Sustainability is an important cross-curricular perspective in the areas of the Tasmanian Curriculum.
Sustainable practices are an important goal of education as students undertake their personal, educational and career pathways and take their place as informed and active citizens in the Tasmanian community.
Sustainability is defined as “…development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”
(World Commission on the Environment and Development (Brundtland Commission, UN, 1987)
