Manager Educational Performance: Dr Irene Gray

Educational Performance Services (EPS) collects and analyses data to inform the Department about the effectiveness of programs and strategies aimed at improving educational outcomes for all students.

Some specific examples of the work of EPS are:

  • reporting on literacy and numeracy levels and benchmarks
  • co-ordination of all applications to conduct research in government schools
  • production of education reports and statistics on student attendance, disciplinary sanctions and exemptions, and performance indicators in primary schools (PIPS)
  • providing schools with valid and reliable data through School Improvement Reporting to assist them strive towards school improvement
  • managing Tasmania’s Education Performance Report process that provides comprehensive data to enable the community to understand the significant improvement schools are making.
