The State Library of Tasmania manages the development and operation of statewide library and information services through 48 public libraries, the State Reference Service and a number of specialist libraries.

The Tasmanian Communities Online network comprises 64 Online Access Centres located across rural and regional Tasmania. The Centres are community facilities providing low-cost access to, and training in, the use of information and communication technology, including access to the Internet, online government, and community information.
