The Bridgewater and Southern Midlands Education Renewal Taskforce (BASMERT) was set up by the Minister for Education and Skills, David Bartlett, to examine educational options for the area following the Bridgewater High School fire. For more information, see About BASMERT.

BASMERT's Report to the Minister [Word 301KB] was released on Wednesday, 30 April 2008.

Community members were encouraged to provide feedback on the report by completing the online feedback form, by posting comments to Bridgewater High School, or by submitting forms provided at displays at the Brighton Council, the Brighton Post Office, and the Bridgewater Library and Online Access Centre.

Although the deadline for feedback has passed, anyone with comments and questions is invited to contact David Forshaw, Executive Officer to the Taskforce david.forshaw@education.tas.gov.au
