Adult Literacy Action Plan
The Government will provide $1 million a year over four years to support adult literacy training through LINC Tasmania, other registered training organisations (RTOs), community organisations and in workplaces.
Agenda for Children and Young People - Consultation Paper
The Agenda for Children and Young People consultation paper outlines proposed new policy directions across a wide range of areas affecting children and young people. This Agenda will help shape the development of the next ten years of services across Tasmanian Government agencies.
Child and Family Centres
Child and Family Centres will provide a system to help people access support services, education and job opportunities, as well as social and community networks.

This strategy provides the framework to develop new ways to enhance lifelong learning opportunities for all Tasmanians and help build a State that values knowledge and ideas. The strategy builds on the information network including libraries, archives, adult education and online access centres.

Engaging Our School Communities
The Engaging Our School Communities Taskforce was established by the Minister for Education in 2006 to identify strategies to improve school engagement with parents and their communities.
Informing Tasmanians
Informing Tasmanians provides a framework for information provision, equitable access and use in Tasmania, and aims to increase people's awareness of how to access and use information throughout their lives.
Innovative Flexible Education Grants
The Department of Education is seeking submissions from eligible government schools and non-government organisations to launch innovative pilot initiatives that support personalised flexible learning for secondary school students.
National partnerships
Tasmania and the Australian Government have entered into a number of National Partnerships that will make possible a range of exciting and innovative initiatives and strategies to be implemented in Tasmanian schools. These National Partnerships are agreements between the Australian Government and Tasmania to improve the quality of early years delivery, education for our students, the quality of our teacher workforce, the degree to which we meet the learning needs of indigenous students as well as improving Tasmania’s retention to Year 12 and attainment rates.
Raising the Bar Closing the Gap
Raising the Bar Closing the Gap (RTBCTG) is a program currently being implemented in over 36 primary schools. It is a $32 million State Government initiative over four years and is enabling targeted support to primary age children in schools where there is most need. Principals, literacy leaders and teachers in these schools are also supported through professional learning and opportunities to network and learn from each other.
RBF 2012 Department of Education Awards Program
The inaugural RBF Tasmanian Education Awards aim to recognise and reward Department of Education staff who are demonstrating excellence in their work.

The 2006 Reporting to Parents Taskforce makes recommendations on reporting to parents on children's progress, and outlines a process for implementation.
Tasmania Together
Tasmania Together is the major vision document for the State of Tasmania and guides decision-making in the Department of Education.
