Service Delivery: the extent to which services support people with a disability to become independent citizens with quality lifestyles.

Goal 1: Program and service provisions are flexible to meet the diverse needs of people with a disability (Supports Tasmania Together Goals 1,3).

Physical access: the extent to which community settings accommodate people with a disability to participate confidently and safely in activities and services.
Goal 2: All schools, public access areas and work environments are safe and accessible for people with a disability (Supports Tasmania Together Goal 2).

Employment: the extent to which people with a disability are employed within the Department. This key area also encompasses how people with a disability are supported with education, and training to participate in meaningful, productive pathways to employment.
Goal 3: Employment opportunities are equitable for people with a disability (Supports Tasmania Together Goals 3, 9).

Staff awareness: the extent to which staff have positive, respectful relationships with people with a disability and promote inclusive social and learning cultures.
Goal 4: Staff respect the rights of people with a disability and their families/carers and engage in equitable and inclusive practices (Supports Tasmania Together Goal 5).

Communications Strategies: the extent to which people with a disability can access information.
Goal 5: Communications will be inclusive and accessible for people with a disability (Supports Tasmania Together Goals 1, 3).

Consultation: the extent to which service providers collaborate with people with a disability, their families and caregivers to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate appropriate support.
Goal 6: Staff are collaborative in consulting with people with a disability and their families (Supports Tasmania Together Goals 1, 2, 3, 5, 9).

Underlying Principles

The following Action Plan reflects the way the Department will strive to enact these principles.

All actions are within existing budget allocations unless otherwise specified.
