Drinking water instead of sweet drinks provides hydration for concentration and learning and promotes healthy teeth.

   
Fruit&Veg Plant fruit and veg in your lunch box – aims to increase consumption of fruit and vegetables.

Fruit and vegetables provide essential nutrients for healthy eyes, skin  and hair and protect against many diseases.

   
Occasional Food Limit 'occasional' foods - targets soft drinks, chips, chocolates, and lollies   - aims to decrease consumption of high-energy foods and drinks.      

Less ‘occasional’ foods means children fill up on nutritious foods and drinks required for growth and lifelong health.

play Move, Play and Go Everyday – aims to increase active play and physical activity.

Physical activity promotes a longer healthier life. Its many benefits  include increased fitness, motor skills and confidence.

TV Turn Off, Switch to Play – aims to decrease screen time (e.g. television, electronic games and computers) and increase active play.

Less screen time means more time for children to develop physical, social and emotional skills through active play.

stride Stride and Ride – aims to increase active transport.

Walking and riding are great ways to increase physical activity as well as reduce traffic congestion and promote a healthier environment.

Health School Health Promoting School – promotes classroom learning, a sustainable commitment to children’s health and wellbeing and partnerships with families to support a healthy school environment.

This criterion ties activities, polices and practices together and promotes a sustainable approach for the whole school community.
