The Online Campus is a part of the Online Learning Network, (OLN) the unit within the Department of Education which also coordinates;

The Online Campus is Tasmania's 'virtual' or online school. Many of Tasmania's small and isolated schools are supported by the Campus so that they can offer a rich and diversified curriculum, providing access to broad education pathways that would otherwise be unavailable. Increasingly schools are attracted to the Campus in order to utilise online approaches to personalise learning and become more flexible learning centres.

Much of the management of the Online Campus is distributed to an Online Teacher's Network, mentors and teachers in schools who oversee many aspects of the operation of the Campus.

Delivery teacher and support teachers also become members of this network of online teachers throughout the state. The network gives support to teachers keen to develop new skills and provides professional learning and consultancy to teachers and principals wanting to provide flexible learning opportunities in their schools.
