Early Years Programs and Initiatives

The Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) is a population measure of children’s development in communities across Australia.  

Launching into Learning

LiL provides resources to schools to develop and lead initiatives with families and their community to support children’s early learning prior to Kindergarten.  Schools focus on the needs of their community and make connections with other groups, services and agencies in the area.

Longitudinal Study 2007 - 2014: The  Launching into Learning Longitudinal Study 2007-2014 Progress Report 2012 is part of the ongoing longitudinal study of the Launching into Learning (LiL) program.

Early Years Learning Framework

The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) is the foundation document for ensuring children in all early years settings experience quality teaching and learning.

Child and Family Centres

Child and Family Centres are places for families with children birth to 5 to access a range of services.

Early Childhood Intervention Service

Early Childhood Intervention Services support children with a disability or developmental delay from birth to school entry, and their families.

The service builds on opportunities for learning and development that are provided at home or through birth-4 programs.

LINC Tasmania

LINC Tasmania offers a variety of free activities and programs for children including Rock & Rhyme (for babies 0 – 24 months), Storytime (for pre-school aged children) and school holiday programs. LINC Tasmania has a great range of children’s books and DVDs available for loan, including baby book packs for children from 0-3 years old.  All children are eligible for a library card from birth.

Tasmanian Kindergartens

Tasmanian Kindergartens are children’s formal enrolment point into their local school and provide play-based learning for children who are 4 years of age.
