The Premier’s Reading Challenge aims to promote a love of reading and to engage students to read, to read more and to read more widely.
The Challenge is a proven strategy that will help to promote to young students, their parents and the community that literacy and reading is an essential life skill.
Parents and families can support children’s school-based learning by reading to and with them at home, strengthening students’ love of reading for pleasure.
The Premier’s Reading Challenge runs between 21 April and 30 September 2008 for students in Grades 1-6. Students can accept the Challenge to read 20 books during this time.
