The ANZAC Day Banners Project is an initiative of the Returned Service League of Australia Hobart Sub-Branch with the support of the Department of Education.
Launched in 2004, this unique project enables Tasmanian students to participate in ANZAC Day each year by parading the banner of every military unit that left Tasmanian shores to serve in conflict and peacekeeping.
The special contribution of rural servicemen and women will be recognised each year with a rural school selected to lead the parade and carry the Boer War banner.
An image of each of the 45 banners, listed in chronological order, can be viewed below.
Please note that some of these banners will already be allocated for each year so you should indicate three preferences if you wish to register in this program.
For more information about the project, please contact Steve Cocker, Banner Liaison Officer, at the Returned Service League of Australia Hobart Sub-Branch on (03) 6224 0881.
