This learning object focuses on helping students to identify and learn the rules by which Me-verbs are formed from base words. This skill is vital for use of the bi-lingual dictionary, and also adds greatly to students' recognition of other words formed from base words.

The learning object presents three authentically illustrated scenes - sekolah, jalan and pantai (school, street and beach). Within each scene, animations show characters performing actions, accompanied by text animations showing how the base word forms the Me- form of the verb, and then using this verb in a sentence to describe what is happening in the picture. Finally, the 'rule' on formation of that type of Me-verbs is stated. All spoken text is accompanied by native-speaker sound and English rollover help is provided for more difficult words.

At any time students can access the other scenes, the complete table of rules, a 'kamus' (dictionary) tutorial and two quizzes to check their knowledge.

Quiz A presents a picture animation from that scene and asks students to identify the correct prefix and base word from drop down lists, then write the correct form of the verb in the sentence. A timer provides incentive for repeating the task and improving your own time.
Quiz B presents the Me- form of all the verbs in the learning object (not just from that one scene) and asks students to type in the correct base word. Again a timer provides incentive to improve your time and hence your automatic recall of the base words.

'Kamus' presents an interactive dictionary tutorial that shows students how to apply what they have learnt about identifying base words to using the bi-lingual dictionary.
