Japanese Teachers Network of Tasmania (JATNET)  タスマニア日本語教師ネットワーク
 
JATNET was set up as a focal point for all people interested in Japanese Language teaching in Tasmania. Membership is open. JATNET's focus is to:
  • provide an opportunity for teachers to share ideas
  • arrange biennial teachers seminar
  • organise term workshops
  • run speech and calligraphy competitions for students.

Melbourne Centre for Japanese Language Education

The Melbourne Centre for Japanese Language Education has been established, courtesy of the Nippon Foundation, to assist teachers and learners of Japanese by providing seminars, resources and advice within Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania in the following main areas:

  • teacher training and re-training
  • the development and provision of teaching materials
  • professional development programs
  • the promotion of a strong sense of professional identity

The Centre publishes four newsletters per year which includes information regarding the teaching and learning of Japanese and specific information about the programs being run by the Centre.

Tasmanian Association of French Teachers and Learners (TAFTAL)

The object of the Association is to encourage the study and teaching of French in Tasmania through the following means.

  • Mutual sport for teachers through regular meetings, sharing of resources, biennial conference etc.
  • Fostering of the enthusiasm and initiative of French teachers and learners.
  • Encouragement of students through student functions, career information etc.
  • Promotion of the value and needs of French in the school systems of Tasmania.
  • Dissemination of information through a newsletter and by establishing contact with French cultural bodies and with the local French community.
  • Promotion in the wider community of the study of France, its communities, its languages and its cultures.

Membership is open to any individual who is interested in the teaching and study of French.

Pergubit, Indonesian Teachers Association of Tasmania

Pergubit aims to support the teaching and learning of Indonesian in Tasmania by: 

  • Providing opportunities for members to share ideas and have professional conversations e.g. through a digital forum, occasional meetings and a biennial conference
  • Working with the Consulate General of Indonesia and the University of Tasmania to support professional learning for teachers of Indonesian
  • Fostering enthusiasm and interest in learning Indonesian by offering an annual competition for students
  • Promoting the profile of Indonesian in Tasmania. 

    Membership is open to anyone interested in the teaching and study of Indonesian.
