What has learning Italian got to do with me?

This learning sequence was designed to integrate the learning of Italian across many disciplines in an attempt to promote relevance and increase student engagement. The project fitted with two of the school’s throughlines – How do we communicate appropriately in various situations? and Why should we consider different points of view?

Students were involved in role plays, written activities, production of a PowerPoint presentation and a research investigation aimed at developing learning strategies and skills to reach intercultural understanding. The final phase aimed to have students answer questions that demonstrated understanding, tolerance and respect for people of another culture.
