Why travel to Spanish-speaking countries?

Students gained a better understanding of world geography by preparing themselves for a trip to a range of world destinations that speak Spanish – Linguaculture Tours. Students designed and created A4 brochures that included a cover page that would entice travellers to go on the tour, materials to assist travellers with language problems or ‘culture shock’, and a map of the world indicating the direction and the places travelled in the tour.

Each country to be visited needed a map, background information, an indication of length of stay, and details on accommodation, meal, activities and transport.

Culminating performance options were:

  • creating and performing a group drama in Spanish or
  • selling the tour to the class (potential travellers)
