Culture is what is unique to the country you live in, the morals you live by, the beliefs, the ritual, the language.
I think it was interesting to see how a word as simple as ‘waterslide’ could end up with an Indonesian word that has twenty letters in it.
Language affects culture and culture affects language. Without one you wouldn’t have the other.
We got to learn about our local history, which I think all people need to know.
The way you speak to someone gives a good preview of what your personality is like.
The Indonesian project was cool. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was good because we got to learn about another country that is talked about a lot at the moment. I now know how to convert the money and speak a little Indonesian. We also made some Indonesian food which was really nice, it was good to know what other countries eat. It was a little hard to find some information. But overall it was a good project.
From an Australian point of view Japan is kind of isolated. It hasn’t been corrupted or changed by other cultures as much.
Culture is language, rituals, customs, beliefs, behaviour. It is not of a country but the people in it. Australia is multicultural.
