CELO online extension programs
SmartBots is now open for enrolment.
Delivery will start on Monday 18th August.
The structure of the Personalised Learning area of responsibility at Learning Services (South) is continuing to evolve as the Student at the Centre initiative is implemented. The eCentre for Teachers, Online Campus and CELO online extension programs have merged into a new unit as part of this implementation, with program delivery continuing as planned for 2008.

Ad Astra

Ad Astra is an on-line program, designed to provide extension and challenge for highly able/gifted children from Prep–Grade 6. The program is offered in two on-line 'classes' – AA Junior (Prep–grade 3) and AA Senior (grades 4–6).

CELO ArtyFacts

CELO ArtyFacts is an online program challenging gifted visual spatial learners while encouraging independent learning. Students aim to produce interesting, unique artworks, while learning to think creatively and problem solve. CELO ArtyFacts is offered as two programs, for Prep-grade 3 and grades 4-6.

Rockin' with Lil' Elvis

Rockin' with Lil' Elvis is an online program based on the videos Li'l Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers distributed by the ACTF with a focus around the family unit, friendship and resilience. For students in grades 2-3 and more mature Grade 1 children.

The Pegasus Project

The Pegasus Project is an online extension program aimed at highly able/gifted grade 7 to 10 students. This program will look at all the various influences there are on thinking in the students' world.

SmartBots is an online robotics extension program for students in grades 5-8. Working in small teams, students will use LEGO MINDSTORMS robotics kits and accompanying software to work through a series of skill building activities and challenges. Rural and remote schools are a focus for access to this program. Ownership of a kit is not a requirement for participation.
SmartBots is supported by SiMERR and LEGO Education.

Socrates Café

Socrates Café is two philosophy-based online programs, one literature based, the second on current events, issues or topics. Socrates Café: Book is aimed at the most able students from grades 4-6, while Socrates Café: Topical is aimed at the most able students from grades 5-6.
