Mark describes a futuristic half-million dollar computer and interface from the mid 90s based on a giant trackball that let users navigate the Earth. This is now a reality with Google Earth.

 

"We can now using nanotechnology shrink ourselves down to the level of single atoms … or with Google Earth we can expand our minds to cover the entire surface of the planet".

To students, this is all perfectly normal. It might not seem that way to adults.
