Qualifications

  • The minimum leader qualifications are based on venue and swimming activity. Guidelines outlining the re-qualification period and management issues such as ratio’s are included.
  • The following matrix has been designed to simplify requirements for DoE teachers who wish to be involved in swimming activities in both Pools and Open Water without the requirement of holding two rescue qualifications.
  • Extra criteria, additional to the current awards, will be included in assessments from 2006 by RLSS-A and SLS-A for DoE teachers intending to undertake swimming activities in both pools and open water. The inclusion of these criteria provides greater flexibility in the use of the specific award.
