Web Safety provides a guide, recommendations and resources to support:

  • development of school policy and practices surrounding cyber safe and ethical use of the internet
  • management and use of the internet across the school including the school website
  • online legalities including digital copyright and online privacy
  • curriculum planning and the internet.

The significance of the internet, its cultural implications and the impact of web 2.0 technologies have meant that school policy and practices need to be considered for their currency, relevance and effectiveness. The school internet environment must provide rich and safe resources which support student learning.

The materials in this guide have been developed from the State of Victoria Department of Education and Early Childhood Development website, Working with the Web.
