All Tasmanian classrooms need to be cybersafe classrooms with teachers applying the same level of supervision and guidance for students' online activities as they apply to students' offline activities. Principals need to ensure that all of their classrooms are cybersafe classrooms.

Cybersafe classrooms are classrooms where every effort is made to protect students from risks associated with online environments such as cyber bullying and cyber crime. Students are explicitly taught about online risks, protection and prevention strategies. Teachers use The Tasmanian Curriculum resource: ICT K-10 Cross Curricular Framework and support materials to guide them in explicitly teaching their students about cyber safety.

Budd:e

Budd:e is a cyber security education package comprising two modules for students in primary and secondary schools.  These modules are interactive and self learning and aim to help students adopt secure online practices and behaviours.  Budd:e is free to all Australian schools through the Government's Stay Smart Online website at
http://www.staysmartonline.gov.au/schools_and_teachers or via a CD ROM.
