Drug Education: Funding opportunities 2005-2008

Three types of funding opportunities are available to schools: in the period, July 2005-June 2008 aimed to:
  • assist the development of cohesive approaches by schools to student wellbeing, particularly drug education;
  • assist the development of approaches to peer leadership and participation in communicating important information about wellbeing to students, parents/carers and members of the wider community;
  • improve the educational outcomes of students in regional, rural and remote areas, particularly indigenous students; and
  • seek to increase knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in dealing with drugs and drug-related issues in local communities.

All funds have been provided by the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training through the National School Drug Education Strategy, part of the National Drug Strategy.
