What support will your school give you?

The philosophy of Tasmanian government schools is that they will support and assist international students according to their individual learning needs. Schools will provide, in particular:

  • an integrated program of learning with local Tasmanian students that is appropriate for your age and previous learning;
  • access to the full range of education pathways available to local students;
  • an orientation and induction program into the life of the school and the Tasmanian education system;
  • an English language learning program based on your needs;
  • student services to support your rights and responsibilities as a Student Visa holder; and
  • regular reports to your parents on your progress at school.

Information about your school

For information about your school, visit their website, or have a look at the application package. Alternatively, ask at your school office, or ask your teachers.

Contacting your school before coming to Tasmania

We encourage students and their parents and their Tasmanian school to begin contact once their Confirmation of Enrolment has been issued by Government Education and Training International. Making contact will help you with any questions you may have about the school you will be attending. We will provide you with contact details as soon as possible after your confirmation of enrolment has been issued.
