Tasmanian government schools are non-religious. However, the Education Act allows for religious organisations to apply to provide religious instruction programs within school time. These programs are separate to the school curriculum. Education about religions occurs in the regular program.

All religious instruction programs must be compliant with the Guidelines for Religious Instruction in State Schools and approved by your School Association before they can be provided in your school.

If a program is being offered through your school, your permission will be required before your child can attend.
