VET in schools

Vocational Education and Training (VET) in schools programs provide the opportunity for students to gain workplace experience and skills, and a nationally recognised VET qualification, while at school. Programs are usually offered in Years 11 and 12, and qualifications are available from a range of industries such as aquaculture, hospitality, building and construction, and the automotive industry.

For information on the programs available, contact your senior secondary college.

School-based traineeships

School-based traineeships and apprenticeships allow students in Year 10,11 and 12 to undertake accredited training as paid employees while studying towards their school certificate.

For more information on school-based traineeships and apprenticeships visit the school-based traineeship and apprenticeship webpage on the Skills Tasmania website.
