Government Education and Training International has responsibility for:

  • enrolment of international fee-paying students;
  • enrolment of dependants of adults living in Tasmania on temporary resident visas;
  • study tours;
  • oversight of student exchange programs;
  • other internationalisation initiatives such as sister schools; and
  • offshore education programs

Fee paying international students - Students travelling to Tasmania to enrol as full time students in a government school. These students may be living in Tasmania on student visas or visitor visas.

Dependant students - the school-age children of adults living in Tasmania on temporary resident visas. Their visas may be:

  • Temporary business entry (long stay) visa;
  • Short Business Visitor Visa;
  • Student Visa;
  • Sponsored Training Visa;
  • Medical Practitioner Visa; or
  • Bridging Visas.

Study tours - of 1-3 weeks duration are available. We offer a custom designed tour to suit your needs.

Off-shore projects - Contact the Manager, Government Education and Training International, if you require information about off-shore projects.

Secondary student exchange - Organisations that offer secondary student exchange programs in Tasmania must be registered with the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority.

Sister schools - Governement Education and Training International can provide assistance to schools interested in establishing sister school relationships. Contact the Manager, International Services for more information.
