For 2008, in-country study programmes will be offered to teachers of Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Arabic in China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and either Jordan or the United Arab Emirates respectively. Also an onshore Bahasa Indonesia programme will be offered in Darwin, Northern Territory.

While specific arrangements may vary across study programmes, each study programme will include three weeks of intensive language and cultural study in January 2008.

The Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowships are an Australian Government initiative, under the umbrella of Australian Scholarships, for trainee (pre-service) language teachers and practising language teachers in Australia to improve their language proficiency and cultural knowledge.

Programmes run over three weeks in January 2008 and most costs are covered, including return airfares, accommodation, tuition, some meals and cultural activities.
