School leadership

Leading and Learning for the 21st Century

Being a Principal remains one of the most privileged of vocations. If we are to realise the creativity and talents of all who work with us we will need inspired leadership at all levels. Leaders who can align the energy of all through the creation of a shared vision, unifying values and common beliefs about how people learn, are transforming schools.

School leadership is an increasingly complex and challenging role. It is recognised that the provision of a supportive framework that clarifies the expectations on current and future principals in the context of the state Education Department is an important contributor to principal wellbeing and enhanced outcomes for learners.

The following pages have been provided to assist you in your important work as a school and college leader and will be reviewed and enhanced over time based on feedback of users.
