Schools Tree Day – Ogilvie High School

Today the Eco Schools team from Ogilvie High School participated in national Schools Tree Day by re-establishing missing trees from the mature Avenue of trees that lines the Ogilvie High School driveway.

Over recent years some of the trees have been lost. The trees planted on Friday will help restore the Avenue, maintaining the school’s park-like grounds as a significant community landmark for years to come. To further celebrate Schools Tree Day they will also be planting some native species that students have raised from seeds.

Organised by Planet Ark, National Tree Day on Sunday 30 July and tomorrow’s Schools Tree Day combine to make Australia’s biggest community tree-planting event.
