Supporting Student Need Website Launched
15 October 2018
The Department of Education (DoE) is excited to announce a new online website for parents, teachers and the broader community, which provides information about the Department’s approach to Supporting Student Need.
Aligned to the Learners First: Every Learner, Every Day 2018-2021 Strategic Plan, the Department is committed to enabling all learners to access, participate and engage in education and achieve quality outcomes through culturally responsive and inclusive experiences where all learners’ needs and differences are recognised and respected.
The Supporting Student Need website highlights the range of quality services and supports provided by the Department’s Inclusion and Diversity Services team.
The new website will provide you with a range of information about the supports available for students with disability and students for whom English is as an additional language.
You will find further information about quality learning for all, policy and legislation, as well as latest programs, initiatives, events, resources and professional learning. We have also made available dedicated supports in relation to the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Nationally Consistent Collection of Data.
Supporting Student Need is fully accessible and outlines the Department’s commitment to supporting culturally responsive and inclusive learning settings and improved educational outcomes for students with disability and students for whom English is an additional language across Tasmanian Government schools.
