Bullying Stops Here! Website Launched
15 March 2019
The Department’s new anti-bullying website – Bullying stops here! has been officially launched today. The site includes a comprehensive suite of resources for teachers, principals and system leaders. These resources have been funded through the Tasmanian Government’s Combatting Bullying Initiative and developed by Real Schools, in consultation with the Department of Education.
The website provides a wide range of information for school leaders, teachers, students, parents and carers. Content includes articles, videos, webinars, infographics, teacher tools and a student leadership resource.
The resources are research, evidence and experience based. They will help to:
- inform the way we create positive school cultures
- increase understanding about bullying behaviours
- develop our responses to and support for those who experience bullying
- improve our ability to respond to and address the behaviours of those who engage in bullying behaviour.
Ensuring our students are safe and free from discrimination, harassment and bullying is a shared responsibility between the community, parents, schools and students.
It is fitting that this suite if resources is being launched to the public on this National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence. Schools are encouraged to promote and share the resources with staff, parents and the school community.
