20 May 2019
On 16 May 2019, the Honorable Jeremy Rockliff MP, Minister for Education and Training, officially opened a $4 million upgrade to Tasman District School.
The project included demolishing the aging infrastructure of the old school foyer, administration office area and four secondary classrooms, and the construction of new classrooms and school library, new Year 11 and 12 spaces, new office building, and a first aid room.
The project also included the conversion of the old school library space into two classrooms currently used by Years 4 to 6, and the construction of four new toilets.
The school community has been involved and supportive of the development from the beginning, giving feedback and input on the redevelopment outcome.
The $4 million rebuild, funded from the 2016/17 Capital Investment Program, is the largest single investment in Tasman District School since the school was established.
