Key data report 2019 released
5 June 2019
The Department of Education has released a key data report in line with the Tasmanian Government’s Open Data Policy as part of our commitment to transparency and openness.
The effective management and use of data is a key strategic priority for the Department. Being data informed enables us to identify student need and measure success at an individual student, program, school and whole-of-system improvement level.
This is critical to improving educational outcomes for Tasmania, ensuring that funding is distributed according to student need and programs and policies are developed and implemented appropriately to suit the requirements of all our students.
Key data for 2018-19 being released today includes:
- School Resource Package Allocations, including Fairer Funding Model Allocations and Enrolments
- Student enrolments and attendance (2019 First Term Census figures)
- Student suspensions and class sizes
- Supporting student need and
- Workforce data.
The new report along with previous reports is available from https://www.education.tas.gov.au/about-us/our-department/plans-reports-statistics/ and will also soon be made available in digital formats from the Commonwealth’s data portal at www.data.gov.au
