Hobart City Partner Schools consultation opens
29 July 2020
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2019 between Elizabeth College, New Town High School and Ogilvie High School to formalise arrangements, following the successful implementation of co-educational and complementary course offerings across each of the schools.
Since the partnership between the three schools commenced, students and parents at the schools have been supportive of the new approach, in particular, because of the breadth and depth of learning opportunities that are now able to be provided to students.
The partnership currently sees 240 students involved with 13 co-education subjects offered as Year 9 and 10 electives across Ogilvie and New Town. Students can also study Year 11 and 12 subjects at either of the three campuses, or a combination of subjects at two or all of the schools.
Through this consultation we want to know what are important attributes for the model of public secondary education in Hobart and whether there is community support for increasing co-educational opportunities at Ogilvie and New Town.
