Spotlight on the Values – Montrose Bay High School

The ‘Spotlight on the Values’ series features interesting and diverse ways that our values are being lived in different schools, colleges, child and family centres, libraries and business units.

In this edition, we feature Montrose Bay High School and how staff and students demonstrated the value of respect by providing meals to those in need.

In March, when everything else was shutting down and most students were learning from home, a handful of students and staff at Montrose Bay High School gathered to put their cooking skills and training to good use.

Over a period of three and a half days, the students cooked a total of 1015 meals which included stir-frys, soups and casseroles. These hearty ready to eat meals were donated to Loaves and Fishes Tasmania, providing nutritious and warm meals for those people in the community who are struggling or during times of crisis.

During this time, the students worked together to produce these meals, living the value of respect and kindness to help someone else in need and are very proud of their efforts.
