Architects sought for new Child and Family Learning Centres

Submissions are being called for architects to design the new Child and Family Learning Centres (CFLCs) in Glenorchy, Kingborough and West Ulverstone.

The three new CFLCs have been fast-tracked by the Tasmanian Government through a $7 million boost in funding in the 2020-21 State Budget. The total total budget for six new CFLCs around the State to $28 million.

Architects have already been appointed for the new CFLCs in East Tamar, Sorell and Waratah Wynyard.

The design of each of the new centres will be informed by a Local Enabling Group (LEG). The LEGs comprise local community representatives, service providers and educators.

The LEGs will determine the facilities and services each CFLC will offer, tailored to the specific needs of the individual communities.

Community consultation has been undertaken and construction works are expected to commence on all six CFLCs over the next 12 months.
