COVID-19 Update – Tasmanians who have returned from Queensland
10 August 2021
Tasmania’s Public Health authorities are continuing to review the evolving COVID-19 situation in Queensland.
As of 4PM 8 August the Stay at Home order has ended for those who had returned to Tasmania from South East Queensland. Anyone who arrived before 4pm on 31 July and was subject to that stay-at-home direction is now able to go about their business including returning to school.
However, anyone who is in Tasmania and has been in the Cairns and Yarrabah regions on or since 29 July 2021, and has not been directed into home quarantine, is now required to follow the Stay at Home order. This order will be reviewed daily by Public Health. School students and staff affected by the Stay at Home order should not attend school at this time.
Please contact your school if this order applies to you. While we expect this to impact a very small number of staff and students, we do understand this is an inconvenience however we appreciate everyone continuing to follow Public Health’s instructions. If you have any questions please contact the Public Health Hotline 1800 671 738 or visit www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au
