Programs and Initiatives

  • eLearning Programs
    Curriculum Services offer schools a variety of online P-12 courses and programs which can complement, augment or extend local provision. The programs provide students with access to educational experiences and opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable.
  • Australian School-based Apprenticeships
    Provides information and resources about Australian School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships for Year 10, 11 and 12 Students.
  • Community Language School Grants
    The Department of Education recognises the valuable role of community languages schools in our community. The Department of Education provides grant funding for community language schools in Tasmania.
  • Extended Learning for Gifted and Highly Able Students
    Support for schools in identifying and providing learning programs for gifted and highly able students, including professional learning support for teachers and principals.
  • School Health Nurse Program
    This program aims to support schools to create a physical and social environment that promotes health and wellbeing, and assists to improve the health and education outcomes for children and young people in Tasmania.
  • Student Health Initiative
    The Student Health Initiative is one of a range of initiatives focussed on improving the health and wellbeing of students in Tasmanian schools, and ultimately working towards the goal to make Tasmania the healthiest population in Australia by 2025.

    A resource for teachers, parents and students of schools in Tasmania which includes program information, teaching resources, Department of Education policies on swimming and water safety, and support materials.
  • Tasmanian eSchool
    The Tasmanian eSchool is the Department of Education’s online learning provider, offering educational programs and online courses for students from Kindergarten to Year 10 (K-10) based on the Tasmanian/Australian Curriculum.
