Penguin District School

Penguin District School will undergo a $20 million redevelopment, providing new state-of-the-art learning facilities for students from birth to Year 12.

The redevelopment will bring together the primary and secondary schools on the existing secondary school site, delivering a combination of new and upgraded facilities.

Commencement early 2019


The architect for the redevelopment has now been appointed.  6TY P/L based in Launceston and Devonport now has the challenging task of reviewing community feedback and developing concept designs for how the school might look and function.



Development of Master Plan

Development of concept master plan expected mid 2019.

Community Engagement

Anticipated commencement mid 2019.

This second stage of engagement provides opportunity for the community to review the concept master plan via the Department of Education website and other channels.


Design development of the approved master plan in readiness for tendering and construction.


Expected commencement of construction onsite early 2020.



Redevelopment of Penguin District School expected to be completed in early 2022.
