Your Username and Password

Your student account username looks like:  firstname.lastname.00
And your reset password will be your date of birth:  ddmmyyyy
If you don’t know your username, one of your teachers should be able to look it up for you.

Signing in for the first time (or after your password has been reset)

On a PC at your school / college or campus:

  • Sign on to a PC and you will be asked to change your password as you log on
  • The new one needs to have at least 8 characters and contain both characters (upper and lowercase) and numbers.

Away from your school / college or campus:

  • You cannot use email or on-line learning until you have reset your password
  • Use Internet Explorer to go to VKey (vkey.education.tas.gov.au)You will be asked to change your password
  • The new one needs to have at least 8 characters and contain both characters (upper and lowercase) and numbers.

  • Sign out of VKey
  • Within minutes, you should be able to use Email and e-learning

Optional Extra:

You can manage your own password resets in VKey too.

Press the “Security Tab” and fill out the form.

Next time you forget your password, press the “Forgotten your password” on the VKey sign-in screen. VKey will email you a new password to your registered private email address.
