Parents and Stakeholders

The new Model is the culmination of years of work and has been developed through significant consultation with school principals, teachers, professional support staff, parents and key stakeholders.

During 2019, the Department of Education held a number of professional learning and consultation forums for schools, parents and families, and disability advocacy and support organisation state-wide. 26 parent and stakeholder consultation sessions were held across the state throughout 2019.

Educational Adjustments for your Child

This new funding model will provide resources into the School Resource Package based on student’s individual needs. Teachers make adjustments to the teaching and learning program to enable all students to access, participate and engage in education.

Educational adjustments may be made across any of the following four areas:

  • Teaching and Learning
  • Access
  • Communication
  • Health and Personal Safety/Care.

Your school will consult with you regarding the educational adjustments being made for your child.

These educational adjustments will be documented in your child’s learning plan.
